TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Pre and end of tenancy cleans, after builders cleans and deep cleans

Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully. By making a booking you agree to be bound by the Terms and Conditions below. These Terms and Conditions are subject to change without notice.

All jobs will be fulfilled to our standard specifications, unless otherwise requested. Specifications for various job types are available on request.

Pricing

  • Prices will be calculated over the phone using number of bedrooms or square footage, whichever is greater.
  • Better Call Moe reserves the right to amend the initial quotation, should the clients’ original requirements change or upon inspection of the property by us.
  • We shall be entitled to charge you separately for any parking, Congestion Charge or similar charges incurred by us in connection with providing the services at the property.
  • Where the property has been badly neglected and/or is in a worse state seen by us during a site visit or advised of by you when requesting a quote for the services, we reserve the right to charge additional costs and/or increase the price for the services referred to in the order based on the amount of additional time and/or the number of revisits required to complete the services.
  • All amounts payable by you under the Contract are exclusive of amounts in respect of value added tax chargeable for the time being (“VAT”). Where any taxable supply for VAT purposes is made under the Contract by us to you, you shall, on receipt of a valid VAT invoice from us, pay to us such additional amounts in respect of VAT as are chargeable on the supply of the Services at the same time as payment is due for the supply of the Services

Access and Your Obligations

You shall:

  • Provide us with a full description of the property, including but not limited to, the size of the property (i.e., number of bedrooms and bathrooms for residential property, number of kitchen/kitchenettes and toilet areas for commercial properties, square footage of the property (where possible), the number of floors at the property and the number of occupiers or employees at the property.
  • Ensure that we have access to hot and cold water and a consistent electricity supply at the property to enable us to perform the Services; If they fail to do so Better Call Moe cannot be held responsible for incomplete or delayed work.
  • The client is responsible for providing access to the property at the scheduled time. If keys are provided, they must open and close all locks required for access and to carry out the clean. If we are unable to gain access to the property, we reserve the right to cancel/reschedule the clean.
  • If our performance of the services is prevented or delayed by any act (which for the avoidance of doubt shall include fraud, negligence and misrepresentation) or omission or failure by you to perform your obligations under the contract, we shall have the right to suspend the performance of the services until they are remedied. We shall not be responsible for any costs or losses incurred by you or your business arising from the suspension of the services and you shall reimburse us on written demand for any costs or losses incurred for the Services due to your default.
  • Better Call Moe is not responsible for any alarms triggered during a clean. The client must provide Better Call Moe with full instructions for disabling and/or resetting any alarm systems on the premises.
  • Better Call Moe will endeavour to arrive at the scheduled time for the clean. However, reasonable allowance should be made, for circumstances beyond our control, which may delay our arrival.  

Payment

Payment for the cleans are arranged by the methods listed below:

  1. Bank transfer payment
  2. Cheque payment
  3. Credit Card payment

Bank transfer payments

  • 1A. Bank transfer payments from private customers must clear prior to a booked clean date and within 24 hours from the date/time in which an invoice was issued for pre-payment. All bank information needed for the payment is provided by company personnel by email, containing invoice and payment instructions. If these payment terms are not met, our company reserves the right to cancel the clean.
  • 1B. Bank transfer payments from agencies and any type of corporates must clear within a time frame of 14 working days upon completion of the requested work. All bank information needed for the payment is provided by company personnel by email, containing invoice and payment instructions.
  • 1C. The 14 days credit given to agencies and corporate clients is at the discretion of Better Call Moe and may be revoked at any time.

Cheque payments

  • 2A. All cheques should be made payable to Better Call Moe LTD.
  • 2B. Payments from private customers must clear prior to a booked clean date. All bank information needed for the payment is provided by company personnel by email, containing invoice and payment instructions. If these payment terms are not met, our company reserves the right to cancel the clean.
  • 2C. Cheque payments from agencies and any type of corporates must clear within a time frame of 14 working days upon completion of the requested work. All bank information needed for the payment is provided by company personnel by email, containing invoice and payment instructions.
  • 2D. The 14 days credit given to agencies and corporate clients is at the discretion of Better Call Moe and may be revoked at any time.

Credit card payments

  • 3A. Credit card payments from private customers must clear prior to a booked clean date and within 24 hours from the date/time in which an invoice was issued for pre-payment. All bank information needed for the payment is provided by company personnel by email, containing invoice and payment instructions. If these payment terms are not met, our company reserves the right to cancel the clean.

When the client has booked a clean and permitted our company to organize it, the client agrees to pay the full amount agreed for the clean. If the client does not pay this amount, on a voluntary basis or on request from our company, we reserve the right to:

  • A. Take legal action to pursue the client for the amount due.
  • B. Publish the name of the client as a Bad Debtor in the local newspaper and other media, if the amount has not been paid within the terms given.
  • C. Report the customer as a Bad Debtor to the relevant financial institutions in the UK.

Upon the act of arranging a booking for any type of clean, you confirm that you have read and agreed with Better Call Moe payment terms and conditions, as well as the general terms and conditions.

Cancellations

  • You may cancel or re-schedule the services by giving us at least 48 hours prior written notice. Where the notice to cancel or re-schedule the services has been received on less than 48 hours’ notice, you agree to pay us a cancellation charge as referred to in the order. We reserve the right to charge a cancellation charge of  the full price (i.e. 100%) of the services referred to in the order.
  • The client can reschedule or cancel the appointment over the phone or by e-mail.
  • You agree to pay the full price of the services in the event of a lock-out at the property whereby we are unable to gain access to the property to perform the services. Where keys are provided by you they must open the lock(s) to the property without any special effort or skill.
  • You agree to pay the full price of the services in the event of incomplete building works at your property, tools and/or machinery on site at the property or incomplete removals works at the property which prevents Better Call Moe Ltd from completing cleaning services.
  • Better Call Moe reserves the right to refuse any cleaning job if the condition of the property is hazardous to the health and well-being of our operatives.
  • Better Call Moe reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a clean in cases where an accident or any unexpected circumstances have befallen the assigned cleaning team.

Insurance

  • Better Call Moe and the individual cleaners hold Public Liability Insurance.
  • Claims can be covered by Better Call Moe and/or its operatives’ insurance, only if the damage/breakages are reported within 24hours of the clean.
  • Better Call Moe reserves the right to carry out an internal investigation into any claims made by the client.
  • Better Call Moe reserves any right to refuse disclosure of confidential company documents.

Events Outside Our Control

  • We will not be liable or responsible for any failure to perform, or delay in performance of, any of our obligations under these Terms that is caused by events outside our reasonable control (“Force Majeure Event”).
  • A Force Majeure Event includes any act, event, non-occurrence, omission or accident beyond our reasonable control and includes, in particular (without limitation), the following: (a) strikes, lock-outs or other industrial action; or (b) civil commotion, riot, invasion, terrorist attack or threat of terrorist attack, war (whether declared or not) or threat or preparation for war; or (c) fire, explosion, storm, flood, earthquake, subsidence, epidemic or other natural disaster; or (d) impossibility of the use of railways, shipping, aircraft, motor transport or other means of public or private transport; or (e) impossibility of the use of public or private telecommunications networks.
  • Our obligations under these Terms are suspended for the period that the Force Majeure Event continues, and we will extend the time to perform these obligations for the duration of that period. We will take reasonable steps to find a solution by which our obligations under these Terms can be performed despite the Force Majeure Event.

Claims

  • No refund claims will be considered once the clean has been carried out.
  • All cleans shall be deemed to have been carried out to the inventory clerk’s satisfaction unless written notice is received by Better Call Moe with details of the complaint within 48 hours of the work being completed. We will fully investigate any complaint and attempt to resolve it to the satisfaction of the inventory clerk, or alternatively to a reasonable standard.
  • The client agrees to allow Better Call Moe back to re-clean and inspect any disputed areas/items before arranging a third party to carry out cleans.
  • Better Call Moe reserves the right to only offer one recovery clean per clean.
  • While our operatives make every effort not to break items, accidents do happen. Identical replacement is always attempted but not guaranteed.
  • Better Call Moe may require entry to the location of the claim within 24 hours to correct the problem.
  • Damage as a result of cleaning by Better Call Moe Ltd’s staff or any of its sub contractors the Client must report to Better Call Moe Ltd within 7 day time period after the completion of agreed works.
  • Damage that has been reported by the Client to have resulted in cleaning by Better Call Moe staff or contractors, Better Call Moe has first right of refusal to repair and make good any damage caused.
  • Damage that Better Call Moe does not repair caused during operations and is reported by the Client within the 7 day time period. The Client must produce 3 independent quotations which must be presented to Better Call Moe Ltd.
  • Damage as a result of poor craftsmanship, malfunctioning hardware or bad project management as responsible by the Client. Better Call Moe will not be held responsible.

Liability

  • Better Call Moe shall not be liable for any third parties or their actions who enter or are present at the client’s premises during the cleaning visit. The cleaners cannot be relied on to grant access to the property to any third parties.
  • Items excluded from Better Call Moe’s liability include: cash, jewellery, art, antiques and items of sentimental value. Refund for items of sentimental/personal value will be made only at its current cash value.
  • Better Call Moe requests all irreplaceable items (whether monetarily or sentimentally valuable) be stored away and/or not cleaned by the cleaning operatives.
  • We are not responsible for any existing damage to Clients property in the form of old stains/burns/spillages etc. which cannot be cleaned/removed completely by the cleaning operative using the industry standard cleaning methods.
  • Better Call Moe shall not be liable for the shrinkage of carpets as a result of poor fitting.
  • Better Call Moe shall not be responsible for any damage due to faulty and/or improper installation of any item(s) at the Property. All surfaces (i.e., marble, granite, etc.) are assumed sealed and ready to clean without causing harm. Neither shall we be responsible for any loss, damage or injury arising from the disintegration during cleaning by our cleaning operatives of any cracked, defective or broken part of the Property or for damage arising from faulty construction or condition of the Property.
  • We will do our best to make sure your appliances are cleaned to a high standard. However, if they have not been cleaned since they were purchased regrettably, we will not be liable for ingrained dirt that cannot be removed using chemicals.
  • Freezers must be defrosted in advance.
  • We cannot guarantee our End of Tenancy Cleaning when furniture or people are still present in the property at the time of the cleaning.
  • All personal items, and rubbish should be removed from the property prior to the clean, unless previously agreed in writing.
  • If the property will be furnished at the time of the clean, we should be informed prior to the clean in writing.
  • Carpet Cleaning booked along with End of Tenancy Cleaning is not part of the 48 hours guarantee that applies for End of Tenancy Cleaning.
  • We shall not be responsible for any damage caused as a result of The client placing furniture on a carpet which has not completely dried.
  • Better Call Moe is not liable for any wear or discolouration of fabric that becomes more notable once dirt is removed.
  • We are not liable for any damages caused by faulty products/equipment provided by the customer.
  • For all cleans other than End of Tenancy Cleaning we shall not be liable for completing jobs that are not listed on the customer’s task list.
  • Better Call Moe shall not guarantee any cleaning services when building work has not finished and/or there still are people present on site.
